Liotécnica supports Apae de Cotia's Vocational Training Project, which consists of training people with intellectual disabilities to enter the job market.
Liotécnica effectively benefits the community, making a difference in the food routines of around 500 people served by different registered institutions. To accompany the program, there is a Volunteer Team, with the mission of identifying institutions in the region, through which the company can contribute with food donations in order to minimize food shortages. The team is made up of company employees, including a nutritionist responsible for assessing the dietary needs and deficiencies of each institution. Other employees are responsible for identifying products in stock that are in accordance with the food program established by the nutritionist, in addition to the bureaucratic part of the process. Approved orders can receive monthly or sporadic donations, according to the needs identified by the Team.
Liotécnica has an internal policy of not hiring minors under 16 years old, and incentivizes young professionals to join two programs that are currently available: Jovem Aprendiz (Young apprentice) and Jovem Cidadão (Young Citizen). These are projects of the Federal Government and the State Secretariat of Labor, respectively. Young people go through a professional development process where they are trained and prepared for the job market, and if there is an opportunity, they can be made effective by the company. Liotécnica receives an average of 20 young people per year.
Liotécnica educates and encourages the practice of selective collection in its facilities and results in the recycling of 65% of the waste generated, in addition to sending waste considered as hazardous to specific landfills.
The effluents generated from the cleaning of industrial equipment pass through a treatment station and are disposed of according to the pre-established legal parameters.
With the objective of practicing a responsible attitude that collaborates with the saving of DRINKING water destined for public supply, Liotécnica reuses part of the water consumed throughout the manufacturing process.
